On the 6th November David Armstrong from Protein Databank in Europe (Cambridge) paid mfpl a visit. Students interested in protein structures could take part in the PDB Roadshow, organized by Integrative Structural Biology DK.
This module offered participants hands-on experience of exploring 3D macromolecular structure data in the Protein Data Bank (PDB). PDBe, a founder member of the wwPDB, offers a number of tools which will enable users to better understand the data in the archive. There is also an introduction to the EMDB, the electron microscopy data archive.
The module was aimed at researchers interested in protein structures, protein-ligand interactions and related areas.
“The seminar was an excellent overview about PDBe, how to use it, what it can be used for and how it is different to the american PDB.”- Karin Olek, Collegiate
